Historical contribution

Historcally he contributed to areas of personal concern and to which he was devoted to. They represented his deep personal conviction and belief and what he stood for as a christian humanist, like:

• the study of the bible in its original languages (Hebrew, Greek and Latin)
• the teaching of the Latin language to young students
• the promotion and stimulation of teaching of the Greek language at the Leipzig University
• the Reformation (contents of the opening address at the Leipzig Disputation)
