Beilstein

His fathers brother, living in the nearby village of Beilstein, took care of the boy and made the transfer to school in the town of Luxemburg (L) possible. His vision and insight had an important influence on the boy’s promising future which was about to begin.

The Klosterschule (of the monastary) was situated in the preserved tower of todays Hotel – Restaurant Haus Metternich (Moselstrasse) in Beilstein.

Luxemburg

Here, young Peter, experienced his first misfortune. He fell into the hands of a teacher who was addicted to alcohol. He went through bad mistreatment and abuse until friends intervened and placed him at an alternative and much better school in Limburg.
